It is a dream come true to return to Smiles On Broadway, my dental home. I first began working at Smiles On Broadway at the age of 11. As a patient, I approached Dr. Katz and asked him what it was like to be a dentist. I remember the sweet smell of laundry-scented candles in his office. Dr. Katz embraced my curiosity and invited me to spend a day shadowing him. I never left. I showed up every single Saturday and fell in love with the way Dr. Katz and his team cared for patients. My family saw the excitement in my eyes each time I returned home from my Saturday mornings at the practice.
Through Middle School and High School I worked at Smiles On Broadway after school and on Saturdays, continuing to fall in love with the idea of becoming a dentist. Dr. Katz and the team at “my practice” inspired me to excel through college at Binghamton University, dental school at Virginia Commonwealth University and during my residency at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Jersey. My goal was to be a dentist who lived up to the exceptional standards of this practice.
Today it is amazing privilege to be practicing in Malverne, the town in which I grew up. It is wonderful to be practicing side-by-side with my mentor. It is an honor to be able to give back to the community and practice where it all began.
My life is a tribute to the passion that I have developed in becoming a dentist. I love that I now have the opportunity to change people’s lives.
My family still calls Malverne home. I appreciate their love and unwavering support as they have allowed for this journey to be possible. My family means the world to me and I am grateful as they have helped my dreams come to fruition.
