iTero® Element Intraoral Scanner

No Goop. No Gag. No Worries!

The iTero Element Scanner is a state-of-the-art digital impression system that eliminates the need for messy putty in your mouth. With our iTero Element Scanner, we can digitally capture a detailed 3D model of your teeth and gums. Not only is this process far more comfortable than the old putty based impressions, but it’s faster and can offer a superior clinical endpoint.

• No goop or gag to worry about

• Fast, accurate impression

• Ideal for crowns, bridges, implants, and Invisalign® clear aligners and retainers

• See a simulation of your potential Invisalign treatment outcome

During the impression process, you can breathe or swallow as you normally would. You can even pause during the process if you need to sneeze or just want to ask a question. The scanner gives us a 3D model of your mouth that can be used for your dental services including the Invisalign Outcome Simulator to show you what your new smile might look like.

The Wand®

As part of our dedication to making all phases of dental work as comfortable as possible for our patients, we have introduced the Wand® into our practice. The Wand® is used in conjunction with the STA Single Tooth Anesthesia System® and the CompuDent® instrument as a safe, comfortable alternative to conventional methods of numbing the mouth. The Wand®, itself, resembles a ball-point pen, making it easier for our dentist to control. Because the flow of anesthesia is controlled by a computer, the “sting” associated with traditional shots is altogether avoided. The Wand® is safe and highly effective, and is already gaining fans among our patients for whom traditional methods of administering anesthesia were the source of anxiety and discomfort.

Digital X-rays

Our commitment to providing our patients with the safest, most effective dental options available extends to our x-ray system. Unlike traditional x-rays, digital x-rays require no film, thereby limiting our patients’ exposure to radiation and dramatically reducing our biological footprint. Just as importantly, digital x-rays are faster and more accurate than their counterparts of the past, giving our dentist a vital tool in the diagnosis of potential problems in their earliest stages.

VELscope® Cancer Screening

The VELscope® is the most effective and accurate cancer screening system available. It operates on the principle of tissue fluorescence; when the blue light produced by the VELscope® is directed at structures within the mouth, healthy tissue will emit a bright green glow, while potentially problematic tissue will remain dark in stark contrast. This does not necessarily indicate the presence of oral cancer, but it does serve as an important signpost that the tissue should be further examined. Our dentist may uncover a number of possible issues, including viral and bacterial infections and inflammations caused by trauma. If cancerous tissue or pre-cancerous conditions are discovered, they can be treated immediately in their earliest stages, when treatment is most effective.

Intraoral Camera

Intraoral cameras allow the Smiles on Broadway Team to transmit digital images of the inside of the mouth to a monitor, permitting easier and more accurate diagnosis of potential oral health problems. Our dentists have the ability to enlarge these images, freeze them, or view them in real time. This technology is also a remarkably effective educational aid, allowing our dentists to explain their diagnoses to patients during consultations with greater clarity and ease.

Diode Soft-tissue Laser

At Smiles on Broadway, we often use a diode laser in the treatment of soft-tissue problems such as periodontal disease. The diode makes soft-tissue procedures essentially painless and minimizes bleeding and inflammation of these delicate tissues.

OraVerse®

Lingering numbness after a dental procedure has historically been viewed as an inevitable consequence of anesthesia. Now, however, it is possible to minimize this undesired post-treatment numbness with OraVerse®, the revolutionary new anesthesia reversal agent. On average, patients to whom OraVerse® is administered recover the normal function of their mouths twice as quickly as those who do not receive OraVerse®.
